*Pink & Purple 'Italian Pajama Party
I sent the little save the date (above) out to the girls with the reminder to keep their eyes peeled for pink and/or purple pj's!
Who doesn't like a little girl time and this fun group of frinds is no different!
pink cocktails, purple cake pops and pink & purple candy jar
I mixed kiwi strawberry vodka with pink lemonade with Laffy Taffy as the garnish on the glass. YUM!
For a quick and easy appetizer- I served Baked Brie. Pie crust, your favorite jelly and the brie. Pop it in the oven for 25 min or golden brown and its ready to be served with crackers.
For dinner-- We did "make your own pizza"
I got big sheets of white paper, wrote out the ingredients and the we went to town building our own pizzas!
Putting the paper down made for very easy clean up!
After our delicious pizzas- we watched one of my all time favorite movies that I used to watch at ALL my sleepovers growing up-- Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!!
It is so funny to see everyone all dressed up in 70's gear! We had the disco ball, lava lamps, and incense rolling to set the mood.
Decorations:
I did a lot for the decor-from flowers all over the place to putting everyones faces in 70's style yearbook pictures -and of course some hanging spiral streamers.
We had a random array of appetizers- since in the 70's it was 'all about choices'. For dessert I made a Tye Dye Cake.
Drink:
We got a keg and asked people to donate to a charity- ROOM TO READ (my brother is the St. Louis Chapter Leader for Room to Read). In Dec. 2010, Nate had the chance to visit some of the schools and libraries established by Room to Read in India.
Activities:
For entertainment while we weren't getting your groove on, we played Twister and a old school board game called "Pass Out" that I stole from my parents!
Now for some fun photos of the night:

-Food/Drinks/Attire
I provided Blueberry Pomegranate Martini's, Red Velvet Cupcakes and I asked all the other girls to show up in a Wig and to bring either an appetizer or drink to share with the group.
A few of the Beautiful Wigs
-The Game
For a night of Bunco, set up 2 to 3 tables for 4 players at each. Designate one as the head table. Players sitting across from one another form a team. Choose one player at each table to be a scorekeeper (you can get score sheets online). After the first round, the winners at a table move to the next table- except at the head table, the winners stay.
Bunco is often played with house rules, but generally the game has 6 rounds, progressing order from 1-6, with the number of round serving as the target number for that rounds rolls. So, in round 1, you want to roll ones, round 2, you want twos on till you get to 6. Within a round, players alternate turns rolling three dice. Players gain one point for each die matching the target number. Players who get three of a kind of the target number (a BUNCO) get 21 points. The round stops when the first player gets 21 points from either a Bunco roll or accumulated points.
Whoever wins the most rounds is the overall winner for the night!
*BEER OLYMPICS:
This is a great summer event that is so much fun!
A little background on what this day is all about:
A little background on what this day is all about:
The events of Beer Olympics tests your endurance, stamina, and will to survive. AND it's possibly the most fun you will have in a single day of drinking.
The concept is simple: Teams of 4 (2boys, 2girls) compete against each other to win the coveted Gold medal and best spirit/dressed award at the end of the day. Kegs are tapped, meat is smoked, and friends become enemies, sorta! Each team must select a country. A handful of designated drivers are your referees.
There were 5 events: Bean Bags, Beer Pong, Tippy Cup, Dizzy Bat Race, and our new event the Relay Race. All the teams competes in each event. No alternates are allowed to substitute in. If, in the event that a player is no longer able to fulfill his obligation as a team member, the team will be disqualified from that event.
Scoring: I created a standard bracket for each event with 1st and 2nd.
Each event had a gold medal winner
The team with the most Gold medals is the OVERALL winner.
I love seeing what the countries end up with for costumes.

We had lots of great food, we smoked 2 pork shoulders for pulled pork sandwiches and home made BBQ Sauce, and tons of treats!
I made cupcakes with each countries flags put on top of them
And the events:

Another PERFECT excuse for a Party ---RIGHT?!?!
The Royal Wedding ~Celebrate in a Bridesmaid Dress
The royal wedding got a lot of people in the party mood, including my closest college girlfriends! Large royal weddings don’t come around often, the last was Prince Charles and Diana’s back in 1981. So yep.... April 29th was our First (since were born in 1982/1983)! The wedding will was broadcast in the United States at some very crazy times(beginning from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. depending on your time zone. So you better believe it--- we DVRd it and had a Royal Party of our own, in STYLE-- wearing our old BRIDESMAID DRESSES- what a perfect opportunity to get to wear them again! Our husbands and boyfriends have Fantasy Football parties every year with the guys, so why not--

*10 Year Class Reunion
Super Fun, Super Hot.....10 year class reunion!
Planning my class reunion was great, once I finally was able to track down all of our classmates! We didn't have much of a budget, ONLY $1000, but I made it work. It is ritual for O'Gorman Reunions to be an entire weekend long! Some think its crazy, I think its GREAT!
Friday night, since most people were still traveling to South Dakota I wanted it to be more of a drop in, show up when you can, event. I chose a venue called Rookies with a nice patio for mingling. They also had yard games we could play.
Saturday morning we kicked of the day with a school tour-The school has had a complete makeover in the past 2 years- it isn't anything like what we were used too. It was fun to walk around and reminisce.
Saturday night was an outdoor musical festival called Jazzfest- we had our own private tent and it was catered by Famous Dave's. It was sweaty, in 90's with a heat index around 110! Not the best way to look when you have not seen most in several years, but everyone was in it together! Makes me miss the good old O'Gorman days-- it was fun reminiscing about all the old party days :)
